Tally Skirt AND GYCT Design's 1 Year Anniversary! {Pattern Test, Review and Grand Opening Sale!}

I've been super busy with sewing projects lately! But my favorites have been the Tally Skirt that I tested for GYCT Designs (affiliate)! Guess What, GYCT Designs is celebrating their 1 Year anniversary for selling patterns! Hard to believe! Opening up a shop on their website (with a fantastic sale) is a pretty cool way to celebrate!

But first, I must share with you the absolute cuteness of the Tally skirt! I tested the skirt (it also has a short option!) in the 6 month size because Baby Girl is so skinny!

Here was the first one I sewed up!

The side features knife pleats and a button tab for aesthetics. Love it!

Check out that reverse applique matching Tinley Tee shirt I made! I am super stoked at how awesome it turned out! I love it! Want to do some reverse applique on your own Tinley Tee (or pattern of choice) this was the tutorial I used as reference for my own, check them out here.

The pattern features options for skirts and shorts. Side knife (accordian) pleats and the button tab. The waistband has an overlap in the front with simple, easy to follow direction and buttons for aesthetics.

I did not sew up the shorts, but I did sew up the skirt twice. The cool thing with the skirt is that you can adjust the length as you see necessary. The second skirt had 6 mos waist with 18 month length. My skinny little baby girl looks cute no matter what though (in my biased opinion)! :)

Here is the second skirt:

You can head straight to pick up your own copy for the skirt on CraftsyEtsy, or on her own shop (affiliate)

Speaking of her own shop, she is having a sale! Every thing on the GYCT Designs website is discounted in celebration for these next few days! Head on over to GYCT Designs to check out what there is. That isn't a bad sale, it's awesome! (I am an affiliate, so by clicking on my link to her website shop and making a purchase I do receive a small amount in return)

Nikolai's Shirt

Only Expiring 2013Before I talk about Christmas, because it was crazy and we still aren't finished celebrating yet, I want to talk about Nikolai's shirt from the last post, Holiday Family Portraits. Yes, we still aren't finished celebrating yet. My niece was in California spending time with her Dad, step-mom, half-brothers and half-sister. So we were waiting to finish celebrating when she returned to Arizona. :)
Now, on to his shirt...

Dresden Fan Coaster

I found this awesome tutorial from Miss Print, and it is so cute! It's a Quilt as you go Hexie Coaster! I have the perfect fabric for it and I would love to have one on my desk at work. But, while I was getting ready, I figured I might try a dresden fan instead! I found some super cute fabric for a fan. Then I thought, Hey it works to have 2! I can trade them out for washings! :)

Dylan's Busy Book

I am so excited about how this turned out, and I even finished it by her birthday party! If you didn't see my fiasco of attempting to cut fabric with the cricut (testing it so I could make a quiet book), you can read those posts here for part 1, and here for part 2.It works, though I would make some changes. It looks so cute. I wish that I knew how well Dylan likes it. At least I know she uses it. My mom said she has difficulty pronouncing busy and it comes out as Disney. So she says Dylan's Disney book. Cute. If she asks for it, that must mean that she likes it right? Well, I also added two coloring book, 12 colored pencils, and a pack of 8 Ariel the little mermaid crayons that she colored with at our house. Gotta love stuff from the dollar bins at the stores! :) So I wrote down the measurements of the fabrics so I could share. :)
