2 Babies Vaccinated = 1 tired Momma...

Now that my 2 babies are both asleep. I have some peace to myself! Can I sleep? No, that cup of coffee pounded before the oldest actually drifted off into a suddenly silent slumber has started to take it's effects. I can feel my hands shake with the need to move, to do something... Aah, the sound of wakefulness... Not more than 5 minutes...

Since the littlest one is still swinging in peaceful sleep, and the migraine is still tempting the base of my skull threatening pain in the ears, I am going to attempt to provide the most recent doctor update from our foray into the city just for a (ahem) 2 hour doctor visit. A little long, don't you think? But, alas, necessary...

It was a visit strictly for Baby Girl. Of course, not how it ended. Both my babies have been vaccinated; now I have a constant crier and a tempestuous toddler... Yay for me, and my nagging migraine...

I just love her facial expressions, now if only I can get one of her adorable smile!

Purse - Camera Bag

So, a while back I bought this nifty green purse from Walmart on clearance with the full intent of using it as a camera bag. My camera bag for the Fuji-film point-and-shoot was just too small for the Samsung.

I usually am one of those people that has a purpose for things like that, but rarely follows through. I am trying to follow through more.

Nearly 6 Weeks!

Time is going by even faster! It is amazing what children do to you! Well, to time!

But, how much we do love them...

My Craft Space

I am excited to show you my craft room, though right now it isn't nearly anywhere I want it to be. But hey, it's a craft room and it's usable! :)  And, it is a lot better than what it used to look like. Isn't it just the way that things seem to go, the craft room or spare room seems to turn into a catch all for stuff around the house when trying to clean... Maybe if we had spots for everything it would be easier, or not as much stuff.... ;)

So when you first walk into the craft room, to the left is the desk where my sewing machine is located. I love the size (though a little big for the room). We acquired it in the move into this house 5 months ago. Brandon wants to cut a portion off the table to set the sewing machine down into it, but I don't think that is going to happen and now I am not sure if I want it to. The red chair was an acquisition with the house too.

The drawers are filled with scissors, sewing notions, thread, bobbins, old eye glasses and other crafting supplies, even baby food jars!

On the other side of the desk is an old couch that folds out into a bed but I am not totally taking a picture of that as it is in need of reupholstering, not to mention is has a box of carousels in need of a home and my yarn supplies for crochet work.

One more look at my Huge desk... It's awesome...

I have my ironing board set up in front of the window. That window gets so hot during the day. I think this room is one of the hottest in the house! I would show the view, but it is of the broken trampoline and the chicken coop. Granted the mountains are awesome, but not the other things...

My one bookcase is crammed with fabric in photo boxes, books, papers, albums, crayons and markers... I think I need more bookcases, but there is no room for them. The small plastic containers holds my scraps and WOF cuts organized by size. I very much prefer having these sorted by size than by color. If I need something 1.5" then I go into that container. It's so easy! The photo boxes are organized by color. :)

Then it is my craft table. Brandon made it when we lived in the old house. It's great for scrapbooking when I am putting my layouts together. I like to spread out. Course now it spans almost the full length of the room! The unpainted top was supposed to be a second table, but I am not sure the plans with it now...

I like my little cork display above the table... and my music notes...

This just makes me happy...

My grandpa made this, and my grandma painted it. It will always be special, and hopefully the current children can keep all the pieces together!

My project wall. A simple fleece blanket pinned to the wall. It works for what it has been used for. Right now it is sporting the blocks I got from the baby shower. I am still waiting on a bunch and trying to figure out the layout which has changed many times and probably will again before it is actually pieced together...

Last but not least, my music notes above the door... :)

I am linking up at Ellison Lane: Studio Spotlight Linky Party! :) Check out the craft/sewing spaces of others for some inspiration, admiration, or just to snoop... ;)

The Arrival of Samara - part 2

I am actually taking the time to go through pictures! Now that it is super late and I should really be sleeping... But then when else am I going to do this? Hopefully this is ok since my new momma sleep deprived brain is still a little out of whack! I put coffee grounds into the basket and completely spaced the filter the other day, and didn't realize until 2 scoops in...

So, here are some pictures. :)

Daddy and Nikolai pictures

I loved the pictures from the Mommy and Me shoot that Jenn Roberts did for us.  We did some with Brandon and Nikolai too. Just in time for Father's day. I love pictures!

And here are quite a few of them... I had such a hard time picking some out to share with you!

A Special Week: Pictures!

I have really enjoyed this week, mostly. There have been some stressful moments like the 2 IEP meetings that I had, both of which took about an hour! 3 more meetings to go and then I am done! Yay! But, it was my birthday this last Wednesday; I had mommy and me pictures done with Nikolai on the 2nd (picked them up on my birthday) and we got 3d/4d picture of Baby Girl on the 7th. I think those were some pretty good birthday presents! Nikolai showed up at my work with flowers and a card, so special! I wasn't able to get pictures of that though because my phone died.

I'm just excited! I cannot believe that only 2 months left and there is going to be another baby in the house! That means only about 2 months left with just Nikolai... All the more reason to have done the mommy and my photo shoot...

A Baby is Coming!

I am so excited! Nikolai has been a part of the baby thing too. We had our first ultrasound on the 13th (a while ago, I know). He was there to hear the baby's heartbeat, all of our first times hearing it. Well, that is not the reason for this post. It is for the different pictures we had taken to announce that a baby is coming! I found most my ideas by searching in Google Images. Sadly, I did not save a lot of the pictures and am having a hard time finding them. But it was so fun taking pregnancy announcement photos with my friend's Becka and Mike at Fannon Photography.

Friday Happiness IV

Aside from FINALLY finishing Nikolai's Quilt, there is much to be happy for this week... (Cause I think finishing it was last week, but I cannot remember at this moment...)

Photo Editing Crazyness!

I downloaded a trial of Adobe Lightroom 3 about a year ago and I will say that I kinda GREATLY SUPERLY miss it! I might buy it, maybe, using a teacher discount. maybe...

I have been using Photoscape. Not even remotely close to Lightroom 3! The moment I ran out of the trial time, I was sad. Hugely sad. It cannot compare.

Then I finally brought myself to download Gimp. I have heard good things about gimp. Don't know why I didn't download it sooner. It is sort of like photoshop (what I used to use before my old computer pooped out on me). I have to say, I like it much better than photoscape. It can't do some of the things that photoscape can do, but I like the way I can edit photos so much more! Check out this crazyness!

Original
Gimp
PhotoScape

I know it is kinda hard to see the difference here, but I think I prefer Gimp way more over PhotoScape! The colors on the carrier and Nikolai's shirt pop more. I may have played with the red and yellow a little too much and over done it a timy bit, but I am no professional and nor do I claim to be. But even so, it is nice to be able to take a picture and make it look all the better as in this case. The original seems so gray almost, and washed out. I used mostly the auto settings on PhotoScape because I have not figured out manual, and manual on Gimp. But, I am excited to having something that works a little closer to Lightroom 3! :)
